Shadow Fight 2 is a competent FREE arcade fighting game, with above-average 2D graphics and sound, lots of content and challenge to be found, but is limited with its F2P monetization mechanics. However, on the PC platform, this energy meter makes the game frustrating to play and not compelling to be played for long periods of time. This is a clear example of the game that was created for play on the commute on a mobile device.
The most frustrating point of its F2P heritage is the energy meter that drains after every fight, eventually forcing the player to either stop with the gameplay for a while or to pay to replenish this energy. The story is also non-existent, pushing players to just fight against opponents and earn coins that can be used to unlock new protective armors, weapons, and other items inside the game. Its origin on the mobile platforms can be easily be spotted with the presence of numerous in-app purchases for unlocks and bonuses, which are today commonplace for the vast majority of free to play games on the market.
